VISITORS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
The museum is located in a Late Medieval mill, listed as a historic site. Most rooms are wheelchair-accessible. An elevator connects all floors.
On each floor, a member of our staff will be able to answer your questions and provide assistance.
The Basel paper mill is a “label carrier of culture inclusive“.
The “Culture inclusive” label is committed to an inclusive culture in Switzerland. It promotes a holistic inclusive attitude of cultural institutions, the partnerships are continuously expanded. The label is managed by the Department of Culture inclusive by Pro Infirmis.

The Restaurant and Café Papiermühle welcomes you with a lively and relaxed atmosphere.
The lunch menu offers both traditional and creative dishes using local ingredients.
Enjoy a homemade sandwich for lunch or choose from a delicious assortment of fine cakes for afternoon tea. A variety of tasty options awaits you, before or after your visit to the museum.
Weather permitting, you can also sit outside and enjoy the tranquil scenery with the mill river rushing by.

GETTING HERE
From SBB railway station: Tram no. 2 in the direction of Eglisee to Kunstmuseum station, then on foot.
From Badischer Bahnhof DB: Tram no. 2 in the direction of Binningen to Kunstmuseum station, then on foot.
On foot
Ab From the tram stop “Kunstmuseum” walk 5-10 minutes via St. Alban-Vorstadt steet, then down Mühleberg, along St. Alban-Rheinweg until you reach Restaurant Café Papiermühle and the museum.
By car
We recommend the use of public transport. Parking near the museum is limited
By ferry
The St. Alban “Wilde Maa” ferry operates year round. Enjoy crossing the Rhein from Kleinbasel to St. Alban-Tal. You can also arrive by water-taxi.
